city steward:
The Living City
See How New York Works—And What It Could Become
What does it mean to be a steward of a city?
The Living City is a comic-inspired urban expedition through the infrastructure, public spaces, waterfronts, and adaptive reuse projects shaping New York’s future. From the Javits Center to Chelsea Market, you will follow a living system of rail, walking, biking, public space, biodiversity, climate adaptation, and reinvention.
This is not just a walk through the city. It is a side quest to understand it.

Plan for approximately 2.5–3 miles of walking over 3–3.5 hours, at a conversational pace with planned stops for storytelling, photographs, Hero Challenges, and independent exploration.

The experience is designed to be approachable rather than strenuous, but comfortable walking shoes are essential. If you have specific accessibility needs or concerns, please contact us before reserving so we can share the most current route information.
-
Comfortable walking shoes, weather-ready clothing, water, and a phone or camera.

The mission continues in light rain, so come prepared with weather-appropriate clothing and an umbrella or rain layer.
Nexpeditions may cancel or reschedule a SideQuest when conditions create a meaningful safety concern, including heavy rain, lightning, high winds, poor air quality, flooding, or an official weather or public-safety advisory.
If a mission is canceled due to unsafe conditions, ticket holders will be notified through Luma and email as early as possible. Tickets will transfer to the rescheduled date; if you cannot attend the new date, we will provide a ticket credit or refund.
