Golden Circle Insights: Discover Your “WHAT”
Unleashing my Passion while Identifying an Ultimate Focus
Have you ever wondered how Simon Sinek's Golden Circle can guide you in creating a meaningful and impactful life? Most people are familiar with Sinek's "WHY" concept, but have you ever considered the "WHAT" in your journey? In this story, we'll explore the transformative power of storytelling and how it shaped my path toward finding what I believe is my true calling, my "What" in business and life, sustainable design. By delving into my experiences, I hope to inspire you to reflect on your journey, embrace the lessons learned, and ultimately, discover your "WHAT." Let's embark on this adventure together, starting when I began seeing things differently.
Reflecting on My Beginnings
In an era where storytelling is crucial for businesses, I also reflected on my journey during the COVID-19 isolation. As Simon Sinek emphasizes the importance of the "WHY," I realized that my story starts with my "WHAT" – the moment I began seeing things differently. Born and raised in Florida, I was eager to escape back to my hometown and pursue my passion for design in New York City. Attending St. John's University, I eventually dropped out. Back in Orlando, I was disappointed by the lack of creative opportunities.
Determined to flex my creative muscles, I eventually returned to New York City with my wife in 2012. With a mix of skill, luck, and confidence, I landed a design role at a consumer PR firm. Despite the significant projects, I needed more personal development and a creative community. Turning to social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, I discovered online communities like The Futur, led by design guru Chris Do. Their wealth of information, classes, and courses on creative and business topics inspired me to pursue my career further.
Becoming #5463 and Embracing the Mission
Intrigued by The Futur's mission to teach one billion people to make a living doing what they love, I signed up as individual #5463. As I started investing in their classes and courses, I was inspired to share my journey and knowledge with others. Chris Do's emphasis on sharing was far from the design industry's traditional secretive nature, pushing me to embrace transparency and collaboration.
Discovering My Niche and the Path Ahead
My "WHAT" moment arrived during a free challenge workshop called Attract Your Dream Client Challenge. By combining my passion for design with my new interest in living more sustainably, I discovered an underserved green branding and design market. As I embarked on this journey, I committed to documenting my experiences, learning from The Futur, and sharing my insights with others. By doing so, I want to contribute to Chris Do's mission and empower fellow creatives to find their paths to success.
In 2017, I experienced a period of intense burnout, to the point where I lost all desire to create. As the years went by, I made personal changes and eventually felt the urge to be creative again in 2021. By revisiting my pledge as #5463 and investing in courses offered by The Futur, I found the perfect mix of marketable skills and business acumen to revive my passion for design and refocus on my career.
Participating in the Attract Your Dream Client Challenge for a second time in January gave me more insights and solidified my commitment to sustainable design. As I delved into this underserved market, I became determined to create a lasting impact in the industry while living a healthier, more sustainable life.
On a side note, I recommend this challenge for anyone seeking clarity and direction in their creative pursuits. It leads me to my mission of saving the world one brand at a time!
Charting the Course for Continued Growth and Success
With a renewed sense of purpose, I plan my journey and prioritize my learning. By mapping out the classes and courses offered by The Futur, I created a logical progression to develop my skills and expertise further. My first step was to tackle the Blogging for Creatives class, allowing me to share my journey and lessons. As I continue on this path, I remain committed to driving toward my goals and manifesting my dreams into reality.
As we reach the end of this journey, I invite you to reflect on your own experiences and the path that has led you to where you are today. Have you discovered your "WHAT" – the unique intersection between your passion, skills, and purpose? Remember, it's never too late to think bigger, break down barriers, and chart a new course for your future. I encourage you to share your stories, collaborate with others, and seek opportunities for growth and learning. We can create a more sustainable, purpose-driven world, one creative endeavor at a time. So, what will your next step be on this incredible journey? Embrace the possibilities and join me in the pursuit of our dreams.

A conscious branding comic studio is not a design shop with comic-book graphics. It is a strategic, story-led, sustainability-minded studio that helps brands understand who they are, what they stand for, and how to make their work easier to believe in.
