Designer Diary: April
Back at it!
I've been gone for a minute, but I'm back. Let me reiterate; I haven't written in a while. Mainly because I fell ill last week and I didn't want to work, so I didn't. I did a sketch and played with chat to build a creative brief for my rebrand for bigger that I have been wanting and procrastinating to get to. I used the time to focus on myself. I converted some older blog posts. I'm going to take the A.I. B test. I created a visual identity that is the most versatile, slick, and complete id system I have ever made. It's something different that I decided to rest on an 8 with a change in the name to take away the vowels•. I want it to hit; 8 has always been significant, but it is also lucky in some cultures. My recent trip to Italy also presented q in all three cities I.T. visited, so extending it here felt natural. Now I'm finally scripting some.
Podcasts where I will release a blog with some real heavy hitters for quotes. I also am working with Aneli Hansson on sustainability facilitation. Tamara has been telling me for a while to start a workshop. Everyone I meet is telling me the same. Today I'm finishing my branding and getting a case study written for the rebrand. Then, I will make my capabilities deck while finishing out the visuals to build out the case studies online. That also means I should be developing the process, case studies, and social pages accordingly. Finally, my kid is home this week for spring break, and the dogs are kennel trained in a day! We may see Mario Bros.; my son wants to see it, and Robert Blake is raving about it on Twitter. It would be a good time. Well, let me get to it!
I Promise I'm Trying to Get Better
I still need to improve at this documenting thing. I have missed another week of writing, and when so much has been going on. I had an A.I. Post hit, and still growing. I met with the leadership team for the N.Y. chapter of Climate Designers. It was fun, and the team is excellent, but it's funny to see some people's passions play out, mine included. People sometimes need to connect the dots, even in the sustainability space. Either way, I had a great time and hope my influence will grow in the Group. Next, I worked on my podcast, rebranding the client's Main Landing page; I will finish most of that this week. I also have another old client migrating his site over also. I am spending my capabilities deck and will work on my site more. I am also going to finally start making some artwork and developing the sustainability encyclopedia...(name not "official")
Another Break, but with Lots of Progress
I have been missing like usual, but not for the typical reasons. I have stated that I am in an accelerator program for my business. The program had me concentrating on case studies and a capabilities deck. I thought it was going to be easier than it was, but it took almost a whole week of perfectionist complex. I am glad I went a little crazy because the results are excellent. I haven't been so proud in a while. I finished rebranding, created new social media posts, and even went to a particular Adobe Event.
That could have been better; I became reticent and barely spoke to anyone. I have to get back to my old self again... Life of the party energy - I've always had that. I am on to a few new things today regarding projects. I have some lists to make for outreach. Big things are happening!

A conscious branding comic studio is not a design shop with comic-book graphics. It is a strategic, story-led, sustainability-minded studio that helps brands understand who they are, what they stand for, and how to make their work easier to believe in.
