Designer Diary: February
Let's Go!
I was ready to start going this week, but I still needed a camera. As I waited for the camera to come in, I was thrown into a challenge, had a linked In connection with a British sustainable activist, and was onboarded for four new projects from my new contract gig @Wheaton College. I am about to set up the first two weeks of social media content and set it all up in Adobe Express; I will finish the evening setting up my calendar and creating a list for affiliate partnerships... I'm taking this year and making it mine...!
A Day for The Books
Today was an interesting one. It started quietly for a Monday, and it was time to create a few social media interactions - I even posted a video of my drawings.
It has been a while since I've done it. Then I contacted a few contacts, resulting in an old client returning. I just started the Wheaton contract gig, and Sean has already contacted me about another design gig. I also started talking out ideas for YouTube channel development. When I would say that's enough, I made a list of all the companies I deal with in my everyday workflow. I recently made three affiliate sales with The Futur, and I want more on this week's podcast Jacob Cass spoke to the lucrative nature of affiliate marketing. That's what I did, and not because I didn't think about it, but because I had an I took this as a dare and took the challenge. I made a list and applied to Adobe Express and Amazon. Adobe is like a university; I must wait to be accepted. Amazon is like Community College; I'm already taken. The rest I will work on connecting over the next week. I will also be starting the accelerator soon as well, it's a busy time, but I'm excited to begin my Building in Public project the most. Stay tuned...
It's Almost Time
The time has come that I finally stop restricting myself and live to my full potential. I have been recording and documenting while also building and learning. I spoke to another past client yesterday, and we will work together again. I have a week to work on the logo design for the payroll universe, and half of my new contract projects are done. It has been exciting as my network grows, and I'm making more meaningful connections. What I must say above everything else is how much self-assurance I've gained through the process. Here 5 to 7-year-old clients I thought I had lost are thinking of bggr and have had enough trust to want to work with me again. I haven't felt this optimistic or happy about my career in a long time!
